If the mower was ten years old, I could understand, but I'll bet this mower had less than 10 hours of use. Why so little hours for a mower a few years old... Well, because it NEVER worked properly! The biggest problem I had with it was the location of the air filter. The second time I used it, I had to replace the filter because it was so fouled up. After that, I learned that I needed to clean the air filter after every single use (and often stopping in the middle of mowing because the air was getting clogged). This year, I went to use it and the carburetor was so gummed up, I had to soak the carburetor main jet in gasoline overnight just to be able to use it the next day. Bottom line, never again Sears... Sorry, but your mowers are junk!

MTD, the manufacturer of Craftsman, doesn't have a very good rating.
Ran it for about 4 hours today and so far so good. The engine isn't near as powerful as my craftsman was, but what good is a big engine if it doesn't work.
Plus, I got to give America a chance by supporting my local hardware store and buying a product where at least a portion of it was made right here in the good 'ol USA!
